purpose of my website

the purpose of the master page is to display all the content of the website which will stay the same on every page. the master page helped me stay consistent when creating my website and when designing each specific page. at the top of my master page i was going to display the web banner. this banners purpose was to draw the users attention and make them more interested in the content found on my website. the web banner was going to be 720 x 300 long. this size of web banner is known as a pop under. i thought this size was the perfect size to draw the users attention to the banner without using up too much space.

underneath the web banner i have included a navigation bar. the purpose of this is to make all the information on my website quick and easy to access. with out the navigation bar, all information would be hard to find which may cause the user to lose interest in my site. the reason i put it at the top of the page was to make it easy to find.

the colour scheme i used on my site mainly consisted of different shades of grey. the reason for this is because my game is set in medieval times. i used the grey colours because of the grey colours of brick they used on castles.

the home page is the first page people will see when entering my site. this means the home page needs to be interesting and needs to make the user want to look at the rest of the site. because of this i decided to embed my game trailer into the home page of my site. this means the first thing they will see is the trailer for my game. after seeing my trailer, if they like it they will be able to continue looking at my site to find out more information about my game. at  the top of my web page is the title. this will let the user know what page they are on. underneath the title i will include some text about my game. this is to give the user an idea about the narrative of my game before they watch the video.

the art pages main purpose is to show the user what the game will look like. i filled this page mostly with game play images and pictures from the design document of my game. because i wanted this page to stand out i decided to put borders around all the images. this would make the images on this page stand out. to make my website more interactive i decided to allow the user to click on the images to view a version of it in a new window

the game page is the page where the user can test the game to see if they like it. i wanted this page to be fairly basic. the only content found on this page is the game and the controls of the game.
